HOA DIRECTORY CONTENT DEVELOPMENT + DESIGN AND LAYOUT:
Willow Brook Homeowners Association
In 2019, I accepted the request from the President of the Willow Brook Homeowners Association to maintain the information the HOA had accumulated over the years and do so in a more accessible way for everyone. As original owners began to move out of the development and new neighbors arrived, they needed to be able to share the information and update it quickly. Further, even those who had been around awhile sometimes needed to a refresher on the holiday trash and recycling schedules.

The project required consolidation of eight different lists of information, together with photographs of each of the neighborhood's families, approved replacements for exterior lighting, paint colors and more. One of the more challenging tasks was creating a neighborhood map for the winding streets, with each house number and a photo of the resident of each twin home. That turned out to be one of the most appreciated items in the Directory because it can be hard to remember 33 families and where each lives if you don't see one another every day. The second most popular feature is the consolidated and updated list of service providers recommended by neighbors.

From a technical standpoint, I created the directory in Microsoft® Excel™and PowerPoint™ (for the map) to ensure that any person assuming the maintenance of the Directory could update information without the need for specialized graphic design programs. I then created a compressed *.pdf file to email to the neighbors for them to save and print out, if they wanted a physical copy.
The Directory was the hit of their summer picnic and continues to be updated as new members are added to the HOA. |
